Title, provenance and condition are checked by the House before a lot goes live. Most consignments don’t make it.

Every bidder is known

Membership is by application and a conversation. Only members can bid, so every number on the book is real.

Every paddle is private

Members bid under a paddle number. Only the seller and the House learn who is behind it.

How a sale runs

From consignment to keys in hand

  1. I

    Apply

    Tell us who you are and who introduced you. The House replies within a week, usually after a call.

  2. II

    Consign

    Describe the object, set an opening bid, a step and a hidden reserve. We verify it before it goes live.

  3. III

    Bid

    Members bid under their paddle. A bid in the last five minutes adds five more, so no one wins by a last-second bid.

  4. IV

    Settle

    If the reserve is met, the lot sells. The House introduces buyer and seller and oversees the handover.
